"I don't quite understand how you can go from smitten, to falling in love, to being in love, to can you please pretend I never existed, and I'll do the same for you. But unless we could get that part of our memories erased a la Eternal Sunshine..it never goes away..remnants of their scent, touch and mannerisms don't go away. As much as we'd like them too. And this by no way means that we our still in love. We are still holding onto a time. A time in our life. That we can't get back. Can't erase and rewind.
